New United Nations SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR On Palestine Michael Lynk is visiting Amman due to Israel’s refusal to allow him to carry out his duties within the occupied Palestinian territory.

Thursdy, July 14, 2016

The special rapporteur has established on the situation of human rights in Palestine territory since 1967.

“ Michael Lynk”  has launched his  FIRST OFFICIAL MISSION on 10 July 2016 to  Jordan  to gather first-hand information on the current human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

“I am very much looking forward to meeting with the many representatives of civil society, government officials and UN officers to learn more about recent developments in the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory,” he said. “Their work is invaluable, and it will shape my understanding of what is happening on the ground.”

But due to Israel’s lack of response to his request to travel to the Occupied Palestinian Territory he traveled to Amman - Jordan and this rejection comes in the framework of Israel's constant refusal to cooperate with the Human Rights Council and its mechanisms.

It Should be Noted did the former Special Rapporteur, " Makarim Wibisono," resigned from his job Because of the frequent and constant refusal to allow him to enter the Palestinian territory for the duration of his mandate, Which he expressed deep concern at the lack of effective protection of Palestinian victims of continuing human rights violations  which made him frustrated about the efforts being made to help safeguard  the lives of Palestinians who are victims of Israeli violations.

These failures to enter the occupied Palestinian territories by the United Nations rapporteurs cause international concern and this is considered as glaring infringe to laws and international human rights covenants.

We as The International Council Supporting Fair Trail & human Rights call on  the United Nation and international community to put considerable  pressure on Israel to allow the Special Rapporteur to enter the Palestine territory and scrutinize the human rights situation with credibility and transparency and to Ensure the freedom and dignity of the oppressed Palestinian people.
