Date Fixed for Kaduna IMN Fundamental Rights Case
Date has been fixed in the case for the enforcement of the fundamental rights of members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria against the Kaduna State government, Kaduna state government, the Kaduna state Police Commissioner and four others at the Federal High Court, Kaduna.
The case comes up for mention on January 15, 2018.
It will be recalled that the Islamic Movement dragged the Kaduna state government to court over the incessant frequent attacks on the religious minority group anytime they come out to engage in its peaceful activities in the state.
The Movement is also challenging the purported ban on its activities by governor Nasiru El-Rufai in his gazette last year.
The Movement wants the court to restrain the Kaduna state government and all its agencies from further harassment, molestations and all forms of infringement of the fundamental rights of the members of IMN in the expression of their freedoms, including of thought, conscience and religion.
