Saudi Strikes Kill, Injure over 70 in Yemen’s Dhamar

US-Saudi airstrikes on a prison in Dhamar, over 40 dead victims have been pulled out of rubbles and 30 others sent to hospitals,” according to Sources.

Head of Yemen’s National Committee for Prisoners Affairs Abdul Qader al-Mortada said the targeted prison housed over 170 prisoners of war, most of whom were supposed to be part of a local exchange deal.

Saudi Arabia and its allies launched the war on Yemen in March 2015 Since the war began, there have been tens of thousands of civilian casualties. Millions of Yemenis now subsist beneath the poverty line and hundreds of thousands of children are suffering and dying from malnutrition.

The Western-backed military aggression, coupled with a naval blockade, has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and led to a massive humanitarian crisis.
