The 39th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) opened yesterday, 10 September 2018, at palais des nations, Geneva, Switzerland . After opening the session, Mr. Vojislav Šuc – President of the HRC for the Twelfth Cycle (2018) – gave the floor to the current UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Michelle Bachelet, to deliver her first speech before the HRC since having taken the highest UN human rights position succeeding Mr. Ra’ad bin Zeid.
