The HRC just adopted Res. L.4: Enhancement of international cooperation in the Field of Human Rights with 28 yes, 14 no, and 3 abstentions!
The resolution reads “... The Human Rights Council,
Reaffirming its commitment to promoting international cooperation, as set forth in the Charter of the United Nations, in particular Article 1, paragraph 3, and relevant provisions of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, adopted at the World Conference on Human Rights on 25 June 1993, for enhancing genuine cooperation among Member States in the field of human rights, Reiterating the important role that genuine human rights dialogue can play in the enhancement of cooperation in the field of human rights at the bilateral, regional and international levels”
The resolution also expresses concern over the continued imposition of unilateralism and unilateral coercive measures, which hinder the well-being of the population of the affected countries and create obstacles to the full realization of their human rights.
Further the resolution reaffirms that each State has the inalienable right to choose freely and develop, in accordance with the sovereign will of its people, its own political, social, economic and cultural systems, without interference from any other State, in strict conformity with the Charter.
ICSFT supports this resolution. We would like to call on USA, UK, and France to act in accordance with the international norms and this resolution and stop their illegal unilateral tripartite aggression against the sovereign state of Syrian Arab Republic!
