Deputy Foreign Minister Meets The Head of ICRC Delegation to Yemen
Deputy Foreign Minister, Hussein al-Azzi, discussed with the head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Yemen, Francois Morillon, the cooperation fields between Yemen and the Committee and ways of enhancing and developing them.
In the meeting, the Deputy Minister called on the ICRC delegation to activate its role in calling for the respect of international humanitarian law and international human rights law in Yemen, which is violated daily by the US-Saudi aggression. Pointing out in this regard to what happened yesterday by targeting the station of the oil company in the capital Sana'a.
He pointed out the importance of expanding the role of the ICRC delegation to visit the prisons and check out the conditions of prisoners by the aggression countries whose rights are violated. The Deputy Minister stressed the readiness of government agencies to provide all necessary facilities for the work of the Committee. Expressing the hope of doubling the international organizations for their efforts to support the mitigation of the effects of the aggression and the siege imposed on Yemen.
For his part, the head of the ICRC delegation reviewed the activities of the mission during the last period. Confirming the keenness of the Committee to continue its humanitarian tasks in Yemen and contribute to the alleviation of the humanitarian situation.
