ICSFT DENOUNCES THE ILLEGAL AND UNILATERAL ISRAEL ATTACK ON SYRIAN AIRBASE
Earlier today Israeli has carried out another illegal and targeted attack on Syrian airbase known as T-4 air base.
This illegal attack comes shortly after the US President Donald Trump had promised a “big price to pay”, although the US Department of Defense is denying any involvement at this stage.
ICSFT is deeply concerned about this report of an Israeli air attack inside Syria, such action is clearly unacceptable military interference.
The attack early this morning on Syrian air base has wounded and claimed the lives of several people.
Israel and other allied countries that claim to have moral high ground in human rights should avoid any action that heightens tension in the country and region. The kind of illegal air strikes like Israel’s offer a helping hand to the hands of militant groups and terrorists and risk complicating the search for a political solution in Syria.
There is no justification for this unprovoked attack on targets on the territory of a sovereign country. This is a blatant violation of the UN founding principles and charters and is unacceptable no matter the motives to justify it.
This attack is illegitimate, unlawful and the latest gross violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic and its legitimate government. Any country including the USA, UK, and Israel cannot interfere in national matters without the approval of the sovereign and legitimate government. Hence, USA, Israel and their allies should put aside their fake concern for Syrian people and stop supporting terrorist groups in the country.
Israel and USA continuously disregard the documented crimes of terrorist groups like ISIS, including executions of civilians, torture, rape, recruiting children and persecuting minorities, and put sole ownership of the situation on the Syrian government, which is a far cry from the truth and is a testament to their one sided and politically charged “human rights agenda” in Syria.
ICSFT deplores such acts of aggression against Syria as they are unacceptable and contradict the principles and norms of international human rights and humanitarian law
ICSFT urges the United Nations Security Council to condemn Israel's attacks on Syria after an Israeli strike early on Monday. The UN must take strict and immediate measures to stop such illegal unilateral Israeli attacks.
It is imperative to create peaceful conditions for consistent work with the Syrian government and launch a political dialogue and reach people centered peaceful settlement in Syria.
