A/HRC/37/L49 - Ensuring accountability and justice for all violations of international law in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem

Adopted with a majority vote of 27 yes, 15 abstentions, and 4 no! USA, UK, Australia and Togo voted no on this resolution. Condemning all violations of human rights and of international humanitarian law, and appalled at the widespread and unprecedented levels of destruction, death and human suffering caused in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem Stresses that all efforts to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should be grounded in respect for international humanitarian law and international human rights law, and in relation to the independent commission of inquiry report, as well as the preliminary examination of the International Criminal Court Denounces all acts of intimidation, threats and delegitimization directed at civil society actors and human rights defenders involved in documenting and countering violations of international law and impunity in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and calls upon all States to ensure their protection Requests the United Nations High Commissioner for Human RIghts to report on the implementation of the present resolution to the Human Rights council at its fortieth session.

ICSFT strongly condemns the violence and abuse faced by Palestinian children, the complicity of the international community and the UN in allowing Israel to continuously perpetrate war crimes, the targeting of journalists , arbitrary detentions, continued displacement, a crippled health system, and lack of self-determination.

The continuing blockade is a war crime that must be stopped. We deplore the lack of legal remedy or accountability for Palestinians within the occupying Israeli system!

Most importantly the international community should hold Israel accountable for its grave violations as we have the moral responsibility to fight injustice!
